There are 3 distinct designs of telescopes. Each design has an
optimal application.
- Refractor telescopes use glass lenses and you view from the
back of the telescope.
- Reflector telescopes use mirrors and viewing is from the side
of the telescope.
- Cassegrain telescopes use both glass lens and mirrors with viewing
from the back.
